Field Trip to Birmingham

I’m back, and my credit card bill next month is only going to be slightly eye-watering. I’ve been off in the delights of the NEC in Birmingham - and being able to stay at the beautiful Birmingham Airport (you won’t believe the views. And you won’t see any from me, because even I couldn’t make that look good...) - visiting the Photography Show.

I’d not been before, and I’m not going to review it in detail; but, I thoroughly recommend it to anyone with an interest in photography next year. The educational presentations were excellent for all levels, and the savings to be made on equipment meant that I saved more on things I did need to buy than I spent on my travel and accommodation. And I learned things and met a load of useful contacts. Win-win...

(One thing I will note is that, despite being a Canon shooter, I spent virtually no time on their stand. I realise that decent optics and the like are something worth striving for, but really: please give us something different. Like a Sony A7 series equivalent...)
